Moglia Powers Vikings into Region XIX Playoffs
Toms River, NJ - The Vikings needed one win in their remaining three games to clinch a spot in the NJCAA Region XIX playoffs, and they wasted no time in getting it. Freshman first baseman Nick Moglia blasted 2 towering home runs and drove in 7 runs in leading Ocean County College to a doubleheader sweep of Region XIX opponent Union County College on Sunday. Moglia had a total of 6 hits over the 2 wins, while Tom Ring collected his first victory on the mound, with 3 solid innings of relief. Tom Pulcine hit a home run and 2 doubles, with 4 RBI, and Tyler Kay had 4 hits on the day (with 3 of them being for extra bases) and 2 RBI.
The Vikings final game of the regular season is on Tuesday (5/9), when they travel to Union County College for a 3:30 p.m. start, while the NJCAA Region XIX playoff matchups will be announced on Wednesday (5/10).
