Toms River, NJ - Ocean County College Baseball launched their 2024 season in strong fashion on Friday (3/1), with a 7-4 road victory at Salem Community College. OCC sophomore Ryan Bilello earned the win on the mound, striking out 6 and scattering 3 hits through 4 innings, before sophomore Luke Corcoran appeared in middle relief, and freshman Anthony Bilello came on in the 8th inning to close out for the save.
Ocean sophomore right fielder Carl Barth had a solid day at the plate, going 3-4 with a triple and 3 RBI, while freshman center fielder Tom DeMarco collected 2 hits and 2 stolen bases in the win.
"Great start to the season," remarked OCC Baseball Head Coach Ed McRae. "Ryan put us in a position to win, and Barth was fantastic."
The Vikings will next face County College of Morris this Tuesday, March 5, in what will be the Vikings' home opener.
