Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Basketball's unbeaten streak was stopped at 6 games, following a 100-78 loss to the visiting Salem CC Mighty Oaks on Thursday (12/18).
The nationally-ranked #1 Oaks lived up to their top billing tonight, employing a fast-paced, aggressive attack coupled with a defensive effort that continually stifled the Vikings in the paint. Ocean top-scorer Jamari Smith (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat H.S.) was held to just 4 points as the Vikings fought to keep their proverbial heads above water. Freshman guard Aiden Sosinov (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan H.S.) scored 24 points, with 7 rebounds in his 30 minutes on the court, while AJ Lemons (Columbia, SC/Pemberton Township H.S.) and Myles Marabuto (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township H.S.) contributed 14 points each in the loss.
The Vikings shift to 8-4 overall, and will next take the court on Thursday, January 8, when they host Bergen CC at 7pm.
