Toms River, NJ - Ocean CC Men's Basketball won their 2nd straight game (and 8th of their last 9 contests) in a 96-86 defeat of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Saturday (1/10).
The Vikings began this matchup with an offensive intensity that seemingly carried over from their January 8 win versus Bergen CC, driving the lane and forcing turnovers. OCC freshman guard Aiden Sosinov (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan H.S.) lit up the Bulldogs for 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, while sophomore guard Jamari Smith (Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat H.S.) had a nearly identical afternoon, scoring 26, with 11 rebounds and 5 assists in the win. Ocean guard Myles Marabuto (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township H.S.) scored in double figures for his 3rd consecutive game, as the sophomore scored 16 points, along with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, while sophomore Kai Barckley (Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River South H.S.) made his presence felt with 11 points, 3 assists, and 4 boards today.
The Vikings are now 10-4 overall, 3rd in Region 19, and will next host the Roadrunners of RCSJ Gloucester this Tuesday, January 13, at 7pm.
