Men's Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match, Defeats Northampton and Brookdale!

Toms River, NJ - OCC Men's Volleyball improved to 7-3 overall this season following a tri-match sweep of visiting Northampton CC and Brookdale CC on Saturday (3/21).

MATCH 1 - Ocean CC defeats Northampton CC, 3-1

Having already shut out Northampton CC in their season opener, the Vikings completed their regular season sweep of the Spartans with a 3-1 win to begin the tri-match. Four Ocean players scored in double figures in this match, as Ocean pounded the Spartans through 4 sets (set scores: 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-20). 

Abran Arrojo - 16.5 points, 13 kills, 5 digs
Giedruis Makselis - 15 points, 15 kills
Jimmy Baxes - 13.5 points, 11 kills, 9 digs
Shaun Mihovch - 11 points, 11 kills

MATCH 2 - Ocean CC defeats Brookdale CC, 3-0

The Vikings locked up their 3rd straight win following a blistering 3-0 shutout of Brookdale CC. In what was one of the fastest, most efficient matches of their season, Ocean made quick work of Brookdale (set scores: 25-21, 25-18, 25-18), with the Vikings' dual threat of Jimmy Baxes (12 points, 9 kills) and Abran Arrojo (11 points, 9 kills) leading the attack. Freshman Erik Balkius also shined in this contest, with the middle hitter scoring 10 points, with 5 kills and 3 digs in the victory.

The Vikings next take the court on Wednesday, March 25, when they host Union College of NJ in Ocean's final home match of the regular season.
