Women's Basketball Stopped by CC of Philadelphia, 84-45
Toms River, NJ - OCC Women's Basketball absorbed their 10th consecutive loss of the season following an 84-45 defeat at the hands of CC of Philadelphia on Thursday (12/18).
The Vikings burst out of the gate in this matchup, establishing a 7-point lead in the first 6 minutes, ending the first half trailing by just 2 points, but were ultimately unable to regain a lead, as the Lions pulled away.
Ocean sophomore guard Brooke Schmidt (Lacey, NJ/Lacey H.S.) turned in her customary well-rounded performance, scoring 18 points and bringing in 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in her 38 minutes of action, while freshman guard Lola Darcy (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Boro H.S.) similarly worked hard on both ends of the court, scoring 14 points with 9 rebounds and 3 steals in the loss. OCC freshman forward D'Anna Capriotti (Tuckerton, NJ/Pinelands Regional) was fearless in the paint tonight, yanking down 10 rebounds, with freshman guard Regan Ottinger (Brick, NJ/Wall H.S.) similarly aggressive, with 8 boards.
The Vikings head into winter break with an overall record of 0-10, and will resume their hunt for their 1st win of the season on Thursday, January 8, when they host Bergen CC at 5pm.
